Important Announcement Regarding Return to Campus in 2023
Dear All students & faculty members,
I hope this note finds you well. During this unprecedented time, thanks to Students, Faculty, Staff, and our IT team, we have been able to operate the school remotely. Now with the pandemic subsiding, we are pleased to announce that WUV will resume our on-campus classes from the spring of 2023. We have begun the process of reopening the buildings and preparing for the returning employees. Therefore, WUV’s all students, staff and faculty members shall return to their office and campus from Jan. 3, 2023.
The process of reopening will be implemented in three phases:

Phase one
All staff and full & part time faculty members will return to the office from Jan. 3, 2023. (offices are open but campus is still closed). -
Phase two
Students, staff and full & part time faculty will return to the office on Jan. 9, 2023. (offices and campus will open, so anyone can access offices and the campus). -
Phase three
Students, staff, full & part time faculty, and all instructors will return to their offices and classrooms on Jan. 23, 2023. (the entire campus, including all the offices and classrooms, is open as normal).
Policy Guide
Safety is of the utmost importance during this return-to-campus process, so we have made following changes to our policies and procedures:
- Vaccinations and Boosters: Strongly Encouraged.
- Covid Testing: Strongly Encouraged before returning to campus / If you have symptoms, test immediately.
- Reporting COVID Cases: Students, Faculty, and Staff are required to report COVID cases to.

- Mask (Indoors): Strongly Encouraged Wearing Mask is Optional. Exceptions: Required for event presenters, class presenters, instructors, etc.
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or think you have been exposed, please call or send email even if you have been fully vaccinated. And if you are sick, stay home unless you are seeking medical care.

- If you have a test positive: Students, faculty & staff who test positive should reach out to your primary care provider for medical care.

- Isolation and Quarantine Precautions for Students, faculty, and staff with COVID-19: Each Department will make a formal determination if you are required to isolate or quarantine. WUV follows CDC guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/you
Emergency Management and Safety
Students, Faculty and employees who know or have been exposed or have reason to believe they are infected with a contagious disease should seek expert medical advice and are encouraged to advise local health authorities of a possible public health threat. WUV should be immediately made aware of any reported contagious diseases as reported by the Student Life and HR Department.
Procedures

Students
- Students who know or suspect they are infected with a contagious disease must notify the report@wuv.edu or Dean of Students (studentlife@wuv.edu) on their campus and/or their instructor(s).
- The Dean of Students has the authority to send students home if they fail to follow the Dean’s instructions.
- Students are encouraged to stay in touch with faculty regarding class assignments and progress as appropriate.
- All records regarding medical information must remain confidential and be filed separately from all other general student records and/or personnel files.

Employees
- Employees who know they are infected with a contagious disease must notify their supervisor and Human Resources (hr@wuv.edu).
- Employees need to follow all policies and procedures pertaining to sick leave and supervisor notification about their status.
- Supervisors have the authority to send employees home if they do not comply with this policy. Employees will be charged sick or annual leave if sent home. Failure to follow a supervisor’s directive is considered insubordination and is subject to formal disciplinary action.
- WUV follows the direction of the Federal and State Employee Handbook.

Instructor(s)
- Instructors who know or suspect they are infected with a contagious disease must notify the report@wuv.edu or Dean of each program and also notify their registered students.
